CUSTOMER AREAJörgen Andersson becomes Managing Director in Helsingborg
TRANSWAGGON AB in Helsingborg will soon be changing its management team. On 1st of August 2022, Jörgen Andersson, currently Head of Sales, will take over the position as Managing Director. He will be taking over from Anders Nilsson, who is retiring after being with the company for nearly 35 years.
Jörgen Andersson's move to upper management is a natural progression of his successful career at the TRANSWAGGON Group. He joined the company in 2005 after completing his BSBA (Bachelor of Science in Business Administration) and initially worked in the Dispatch and Planning department before moving over to sales in 2007. He then took over as Head of Sales in Helsingborg in 2012.
Appointing someone from within TRANSWAGGON as Managing Director ensures that the company’s core values will be maintained. This will provide customers and business partners, but also staff, with continuity and stability. ‘If we had to describe TRANSWAGGON in one word, it would be “trust”,’ says Andersson. ‘Added to that come values like flexibility, family-orientation and close ties and collaborations with customers and partners.’
In his new role, Andersson will primarily be focusing on future-oriented projects around topics such as flexibility, digitalisation and sustainability. ‘These days, both market conditions and customer requirements can change very quickly,’ explains the future Managing Director. ‘Services in rail freight transport, which is still a fairly traditional sector, have to become faster and more flexible, and that is also what the entire TRANSWAGGON team is currently working on.’
In addition to the above, Andersson has also pledged to promote digitalisation within the company and when it comes to collaborating with customers and external partners. ‘We are now in the process of fitting our entire fleet with telematics control units that will be delivering precise GPS location data along the railway lines,’ says Andersson. ‘This way, we will be able to plan and process freight transports much more efficiently.’ Another internal digitalisation project the company is currently tackling is aimed at always creating the greatest possible level of transparency about all relevant KPIs. This is intended to help staff align their work even more consistently with those KPIs.
Sustainability also continues to be of great importance to TRANSWAGGON. ‘The future has to be rail,’ explains Andersson.
