DB5 (Laadrs): New-build wagons for taller vehicles now in service
The first newly built DB5 (Laadrs) flat wagons have been delivered and are already in operation across Europe’s rail network. Further wagons will be added step by step, gradually expanding capacity for the transport of taller finished vehicles.
With the DB5, TRANSWAGGON Group is expanding its flat wagon fleet in a targeted manner, specifically designed to meet current and future requirements in automotive logistics.
The DB5 is a lowered flat wagon equipped with scotch blocks and features a loading height of just 1,000 mm above rail level. This low platform enables flexible and efficient loading, particularly for vans and other taller vehicle types.
Each wagon is designed to carry up to six two-axle vehicles. With a payload of up to 51.3 tonnes per wagon, the DB5 supports highly efficient utilisation in regular operations.
Optimised for drive-on loading, the DB5 is equipped as standard with fixed railings. These enhance the safety of loading personnel and ensure stable, reliable loading processes.
